Social Accounts 2010 - Measuring our Impact

26th April, 2011

It is fitting that in the year that Five Lamps celebrated its 25 anniversary, we have produced our first set of Social Accounts, which link our mission, vision, values and objectives to our achievements and to the views and perspectives of our many stakeholders.

As an enterprising charity, Five Lamps has wanted for a number of years to provide a series of social accounts that supports and underpins some of the feedback that we receive from our customers, who often tell us how we have helped to transform their lives. This year we will work with over 20,000 people living in the most disadvantaged communities of the North East. We now understand better than ever the impact of our work on these individuals, their families and the wider community.

Looking ahead, Five Lamps is confident in its role at the heart of new models of public service delivery, building on the strength of established partnerships with public bodies and commissioners. We are committed to securing large-scale social investment into our integrated service offer and to developing innovative financing options which may include substantial asset transfer from public bodies. Social impact reporting is integral to our future.

In a year where we have taken high rank in the Sunday Times 'Best Places to Work in the Public & Third Sector', achieved Investors in People Gold status and secured recognition in the RBS SE100 Index for Growth for a second successive year, we are extremely pleased to have established a baseline and a range of process, for impact reporting.
