October 13th 2015

John applied direct to Five Lamps for a Start-Up Loan in January 2015, having formed Lean Six Sigma training company in the North East

Lean Six Sigma is a training company offering a methodology and tools/techniques for process improvement.

Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality output of process by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.

The company is an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) with IASSC and offers Internationally recognised certifications in Lean Six Sigma at three levels ; Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt.

John has more than 20 years working in this field and on process improvement teams and as a Project Manager for major corporations in the USA, Australia and Panama.

His enthusiasm for the business was evident during the application process and with support from his mentor; Vince Rogers at Five Lamps, John produced a robust Business Plan accompanied by sensible sales projections enabling the Loan Panel to approve his request.

The loan was drawn down in February 2015, and John’s business continues to progress, with online exposure within the sector and demand for classes in Switzerland and Northern England. His website testimonials include ‘Professional/an expert in his subject/very engaging/practical examples used’.

Having observed one of his ‘taster’ sessions, Vince Rogers, Enterprise Loan Officer at Five Lamps, can confirm his passion for both the subject and desire to assist his students, and would not hesitate to recommend his courses.

John said:

“Five Lamps were timely and responsive to my initial application, and I was offered a loan amount that matched my needs, however Five Lamps were careful that the repayments would not be a burden on the business. My Loan Officer, Vince Rogers could not have been more helpful.”

Five Lamps is the local Delivery Partner for Start-Up Loans, a Government – backed initiative aimed at ambitious individuals aged 18 and over who want to start up their own businesses.
