On the right road to becoming debt free

May 17th 2011

Mr & Mrs A first approached Five Lamps in March 2011 as they were experiencing extreme financial difficulty

They explained to John Hird, Five Lamps’ Loan Officer that they had been involved with a Debt Advice Agency, who had arranged payment plans with their existing creditors.

Mr and Mrs A also informed John that they also had a County Court Judgement (CCJ) for a personal loan which was going back to court to be ‘redetermined’. The CCJ was from a High Street Building Society for an unsecured loan who were going to apply to the court to put a charge against their property and make the loan secured against it.

Mr and Mrs A told John that they felt that they were not being kept up to date by the Debt Advice Agency regarding any progress in their financial matters so contacted Five Lamps for help with their problems.

John visited Mr and Mrs A, who are an elderly couple and completed an in-depth income and expenditure to help build up a picture of their finances and to put together a case for the upcoming court hearing, as the High Street Building Society were wanting them to pay an unrealistic amount each month.

At the court hearing, Mr and Mrs A submitted information produced by Five Lamps and the court found in their favour, which is a great outcome against a High Street Building Society.

John also contacted Mr and Mrs A’s other creditors for outstanding balances to help and give them a time frame of when they will be debt free.

Mr A said

“I have received an excellent service from Five Lamps and can’t thank John enough for putting us on the right road for dealing with these difficult matters”
