Not just Millying around

September 4th 2012

Mandy Bracchi from Norton, engaged with Five Lamps in February 2012 to develop a long held dream of opening her own café.

Working with the Enterprise Team at Five Lamps and with support from Redcar Borough Council she found premises in Guisborough and began to make that dream a reality.

Already an entrepreneurial character, Mandy was confident in her ideas, but entering a new market created new challenges that she attacked with aplomb. Issues with planning and repairing an old building dogged the initial process and caused her a number of sleepless nights, but in July “Café Milly” opened its doors.

Mandy said:

“It’s been a difficult but rewarding journey. The sheer amount of work that went into getting the café to look ‘just right’ was enormous. But now it’s completed, it looks stunning and the customers love it. The help and support I received was priceless. Without their encouragement I may have given up. It really helped and reduced the pressure on me. I’d really recommend it to anyone”

Café Milly is located on Guisborough High Street and holds the coveted Five Stars for food hygiene.
